We just had a wonderful and energizing twelve-person clinic with Tori here in Jupiter, FL for gaited trail riders. I put the clinic together after having had a week of lessons over Xmas with Tori (me and my fox trotter “who doesn’t foxtrot”). After experiencing her talent as a horsewoman, her enthusiasm for teaching, her sensitivity with horses and her way of making horse and rider feel successful (yes, my fox trotter does indeed foxtrot if the rider knows how to ask!), I knew the clinic here would be a hit. It was magical to watch Tori, in the first 20 minutes of a lesson, change the way a rider rode and communicated with her or his horse - becoming an obviously happier pair. I cannot say enough good things about Tori. She is a down to earth, positive, sensitive and knowledgeable trainer and professional. Thank you Tori!

Two of us took our horses up to see Tori from Fort Myers. I have a TWH and my friend had a Paso. My horse was pacing and my friend's horse was trotting. I had one of the best lessons of my life. Tori's way of teaching is a collection of every positive teaching tool in a professional's handbook. Her visual cues helped me see the concepts immediately . I loved how she switched each of us out riding and then watching her ride our horses while explaining each decision she was making with her hands, legs and pressure. I left feeling like I had learned so much and could indeed apply the different concepts she gave me. It was a positive experience and we both left feeling like we were NOT overwhelmed with the information and advice she gave us. We both left feeling good about ourselves, our horses and the progress we could now make. I will be back! Thanks Tori! You're a TRUE teacher and teaching professional.

I went to a clinic with Tori last weekend. I am a first time gaited horse rider. Been riding for 40 years but new to gaited. I have a GREEN Icelandic mare. So green and green is not always the best match. But after a few minutes Tori quickly switched our bit and gave some simple easy suggestions and WOW we were tolting away. Tori explained things so I understood completely and was able to put it all to use. Thank You Tori, I look forward to being able to show you great progress in the near future.

I've been looking for a gaited lesson for 5 years, ever since I bought my Paso Fino, Drummer. Just 50 minutes in the saddle with Tori brought it all together! I was SO impressed with her intuitive demeanor around horses, and her encouraging style of instruction. I now have a very clear direction to take my horse. I'll no longer confuse him with my miscues. I can't wait to catch up with Tori for more instruction. She's the best trainer I've had in my history of horseback riding...hands down!

I bought my 3 year old mare sight unseen, (but had seen many videos of her smooth gait). So gentle, loving, well mannered and so tall, which I love! I contacted Tori to have her out to my farm for an evaluation and lesson after she was delivered to me and we encountered some difficulties. It was a very big day, Tori gave her 2 thumbs up! I am so thankful that Tori was able to continue her training at her farm!
Just over the moon at how well Flo Joe is doing since she returned from her training withTori! Calmer disposition and her smooth collected gaiting still blows me away I feel like I am on a $50,000 show horse-love my girl! I continue to work on our lessons and I am loving how Flo Joe just floats into her collected gait and moves out!
We have no issues to correct anymore, just riding in harmony and she automatically collects up and moves out perfectly in her smooth gaits like a butterfly! And she does love to fly it is a blast!
This training has taken us to the next level in many, many areas! I took lessons from Tori 12 years ago and am so glad to reconnect! She is a master and world champion in the gaited horse world and Western Dressage, too!
Sending love to all,
Kristen M.

I cannot say enough about Tori's abilities as a trainer. She is always positive and it is always clear that she fully believes in me. She has a unique understanding of horses and their behavior and loves sharing her knowledge. I am continuously amazed by her energy and enthusiasm while teaching. She gives every student and horse pair the time they need in each lesson. Tori is the perfect trainer for the student whose goal is to be a better rider and partner for their horse. She has also proven herself successful at preparing and polishing the horse and rider pair for the show ring. Tori knows what it takes to win and excels at preparing her students who want to show.
I am the perfect example of her ability to train and polish a complete novice western rider - When she began working with us in March we did not even canter. By the time we went to the WDAA Western Dressage World Show in October I was confident riding both introductory and basic level western dressage tests at that level. Tori had us very well prepared. I was confident in our ability entering the ring each day and was able to fully enjoy the experience. Actually winning a world championship was just the icing on the cake. Thank you Tori for providing me the training to achieve what seemed just a short year ago to be an unobtainable goal. You and western dressage have made me a much better rider and I know you have so much more to teach me… I can’t wait to see how far we can go.

I knew Tori for awhile, I got both my saddles from her, one for my daughter's paint and one for my Kentucky Mountian horse, we love them! She was always very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a good trainer since my mother and I never owned a gaited horse before, mom bought a Paso Fino, but she lived so far away and I knew we need someone closer to help us on a weekly basis because I knew we were still not doing things right. Then my daughter's Paint was having her own set of issues that I knew we needed help with too and on top of that we got a 3 horse trailer for our guys to go travel to Florida parks and have a great time until we tried to put them in. Lets just say it didn't work out as good as we thought it would. So I thought of Tori....and she came out to help us with the trailer, then she gave all 3 of us a lesson. It went great she helped us so much, gave us great tips on how to handle the horses when they don't want to lead into the trailer. So before she left we set up weekly lessons, more help on the trailering and she is even going to go with us on our first trailering just to soothe my fears, itsn't that so nice!! YEA!! I'll tell you when Tori left, she left all 3 of us with the biggest smiles on our faces... it came from relief, happiness and hope of the future!!! The future looks so bright of better communication with our horses and fun trail rides in the Fl. horse parks!!!! We are so happy!!
WE THANK YOU TORI SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been watching Tori ride at her and Buds home, on the trails and in the show ring for many years. I have always admired her passion for horses, her fluidity as she rode and her showmanship as she "wowed" the judges with her talent.
In recent years I have had two serious horse accidents that left my confidence shattered. After my accidents, I wanted so much to get back to trail riding and showing but I knew that I would never be able to follow my dreams unless I had a plan that would help me regain my confidence. I decided to call Tori and ask her to be my teacher. It has turned out to be the best decision. Tori has a great teaching style. She has an eye for the finer details and she gives direction so that I can understand. She has great patience and she uses praise to motivate. But most of all, she is teaching me the skills that I need that will keep me safe and that builds my confidence. I know with Tori's help, that one day real soon, I'll be following my dreams again on the trails and in the show ring. Be looking for me !!
Thank You so much Tori,

I have known Tori and Bud for almost ten years now. Over the years that I worked at their barn I have seen Tori work with many horses. When I decided I wanted to train my paint, AJ, Western Pleasure I knew right away that Tori could help me. After a month under Tori's training program AJ was a completly different horse. After her training Tori continued to work with both AJ and I to make us the best team possible! AJ's performance in the show ring was amazing. Tori is very knowledgable with every discipline from Foxtrotters to Western Pleasure to Hunter/Jumper. When I have someone telling me how they wish their horse could use a little help in certain areas I always recommend Tori. I have learned a tremendous amount from both Tori and Bud!
Thanks Guys!

I purchased my first Foxtrotter from Blankenship Stables 8 years ago, Missouri Traveler II (Red). What a great horse and experience. Red was the first horse I had owned since I was 6 years old. At 40 years old I wanted to get back into riding and then came along Red (after a really bad experience prior to Red). He IS great. I have just purchased my second Foxtrotter from Blankenship's (Jest Tuff Enuff) Jessie. Absolutely perfect for me and my family but I needed help with MY riding.
I have been taking lessons with Tori since Jessie's purchase and have found my confidence build. With my bad prior experiences with horses etc., I needed some confidence building and Jessie and Tori have given me this experience. I'm very sensitive to criticism but Tori makes me feel confident and in control. Never picking on me for my faults but explaining how to be a better rider.
If you are feeling at a crossroads, in need of some very valuable help and experience, DO, contact Tori and make your relationship stronger and safer with your horse. It may be that the horse you love does not match you - you can be sure that Tori will be honest and let you know if this is the problem.
I have never been happier than now with my horse relationships. Things are finally turning around.

I purchased a Tennessee Walking horse about two years ago which was my first gaited horse experience. To my dismay I was the proud new owner of a beautiful TW Horse but I could not ride her. Lucky for me I found Tori and asked for help. My training began.
It has been a grand two year journey with Tori there every step of the way. I can not even begin to explain the tremendous help Tori has been to me as I had to learn how to ride all over again. With Tori's help I entered my first show last year. I proudly placed 1st in Open halter and 5th in Gaited Pleasure. My husband has recently acquired a Missouri Fox Trotter and we both take regular lessons with Tori. She is an excellent instructor and mentor. Our horsemanship skills continue to grow under her watchful eye.
Thank you Tori for your guidance, patience and continued instruction. You have always been there for us.
You have helped to make our dream possible.

Thank you so much Tori for all of your help and kindness with Meadow and myself. I was at wits end with her as she was not started properly and even after 3 other trainers I was basically green too. Since Meadow was under your constant tutelage for a month and you worked with me every weekend, I have a trusting companion and an amazing ride.
You make it so easy to understand and feel what we are both supposed to feel under saddle. Like I said when I came to bring her home, you have made my passion and love for riding so much stronger.
Best of all I have gained another good friend - you're the best!!

Tori and Bud, When we were having so many problems with our Quarter Horse, Barney in the show ring and my 10 year old daughter was getting so discouraged and upset you came to our rescue.
Without your guidance and superb training and tons of patience we would have given up. You and Barney were a match and you did a awesome job in getting him back with my daughter. I know Bud was horrified when you brought a Quarter Horse to your barn and we will be forever grateful to him for allowing Barney to stay there during his training.
Taylor was 10x a better rider under your instruction and will forever love you.
Thank you for being our trainer and our friend!

Tori has been by far the greatest trainer and mentor I have EVER had. I can't stress that enough.
In the year I have ridden with her I have learned more than I have ever. She not only taught me how to get my posture correct, but how to basically restart a troubled horse. She has offered so many opportunities to me and my horse. If a ride goes wrong, she tells you exactly how to fix it or shows you how to correct what happened. She has gotten me over my fear of many different aspects of riding and I honestly can't thank her enough for it.
From helping slow my older barrel horse, to restarting my new Mustang, she has shown me all new forms of horse training. She always makes sure everyone is safe AND having a good time around the horses from ground up. I just can say enough good things about her and her training. I can't thank her enough for EVERYTHING she has done for me!
I highly recommend Tori for horsey-tuneups or lessons :)

Dear Bud and Tori,
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity today in showing your beautiful foxtrotters to John and myself. I had a wonderful time riding them, even though I am not very experienced.
Tori, you make a wonderful teacher and make a person so comfortable. What a ride....like you said, a real cadillac. It was so relaxing and exciting when they go fast. Now, I know the breed of horse for us. Thank you both, again for a wonderful experience.
We look forward to your finding and helping train our foxtrotters.

Thank you for bringing your clinic to Spartenburg, SC. It is rare I feel I have learned much from participating in one of these events, but did with yours.
It was worth going, I think maybe I have finally figured the canter lead thing. Thank You. Also needed to be told to reign in the excessive cue things. There is a time to stop over guiding and let the horse do what he does.
Always enjoy seeing you guys,
David R.

I had such a great time and boy! did I learn a lot!
Never thought I could get my TW to stop trotting but with your instruction I certainly did! A few BIG changes and a lot of little ones made my horse a respectful partner. Came home and applied your teachings to my other horse and he had an attitude change also! Might have to come back to you guys on a regular schedule for tune-ups!
Thank you so much and Bud...loved the stories!
Thank you again.

When an instructor makes lessons fun, uses positive phrases to point out mistakes, and honestly cares......she is a winner, this is Tori!
When I first started riding gaited horses, I knew nothing about the 'how to'. I went to one of Bud and Tori's clinics just to see what I could pick up. By watching the others ride and listening to Bud and Tori's comments, I picked up great hints on the how to's, the what if's and the do nots. I now have a beautiful spotted saddle horse and fully intend to go back for more lessons.

My husband and I had recently bought two gaited Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horses. Within a few weeks it became apparent that our newly acquired, sweet mannered horses were suddenly turning into monsters! We needed help and thankfully were referred to Tori.
We brought our horses to Blankenship Stables for an evaluation and were tactfully told that they suspected it was probably more of a rider problem than a horse problem. Tori certainly hit the mark with that conclusion! Within just a few weeks of one on one instruction and training, our “boys” regained their sweet disposition and Tori helped us gain confidence and control in our riding. We cannot thank Blankenship Stables enough!
Sincerely,
Marybeth and Rob Straub

Being an educator in middle school classrooms for over 30 years I am very aware of the qualities needed for an outstanding teacher. I have known Tori almost 10 years as a friend, fellow competitor and most recently as a trainer. Numerous traits of a good teacher are a natural part of Tori's personality - positive attitude, consistent encouragement, infinite patience and having a keen attention to details.
In addition her high energy level and ability to relate to any age or ability level of rider are assets needed to complete an outstanding teacher/trainer. During my horse/hobby years I have been able to take lessons from many top rated trainers. I have not found another trainer with as many outstanding teaching traits as Tori.
She makes riding not only a learning experience but most importantly a fun time.

I bought my first foxtrotter from Blankenship stables almost 5 years ago. We now have 4, bought from them. Three of the four have shown and won titles at our are Foxtrotter shows.
Tori has not only trained myself, but my Granddaughter, Tori Tanner, her horse, "Winchester's Iron Man" Ozzie, who are now thanks to Tori Blankenship's training of both, National Youth Versality Champions and Fosh Champions.
I have taken private lessons and her clinics along with my husband and granddaughter. I have learned and improved from being a scared trail rider to being able to enjoy both trail and show situations. I would not train anywhere else.

I will always recommend Tori as a trainer for both my horses and for myself. She has taught ME how to ride, not just stick me on a horse that has already been trained. However, if you desire is to have Tori set up your horse to ride in all the different aspects, i.e. performance or versatility of the FT world, she can do that as well. Her past winnings speak for themselves.
I have had several performance and trail horses over the years and have always gone to Blankenship Stables and Tori for help. My current show mare has and continues to go to Tori when we need a "tune up". It is difficult for me to know exactly when she is "right", so I take her to Tori to be my ground coach. I have won multiple championships with her and I could not have done it on my own. My trail gelding can really "test" even the best riders.
Tori coached my 13 year old youth rider so that she could show him in some pleasure classes at the last show hosted by the FFTA. He was extremely rushy and hard to hold back. A lesson with Tori had the horse collected and not pulling on the bit as he is notorious for. She experimented with different bits, hand position of the rider and pressure on the mouth. It worked out great and my youth had great rides she will never forget.
I can not say enough good about Tori. I highly recommend her as a trainer and a coach.

I have been taking lessons from Tori about a year. I do not own a horse as of right now but Tori has given me the opportunity to experience riding different horses with different issues and how to over come them. I was very limited in my experience with horses. Tori has been very patient with me and I have learned a lot.
The most important lesson I have learned is that the horse must respect you but you do not have to be mean to accomplish this. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Tori and would not hesitate to recommend her.

Both my husband and myself purchased our horses from Tori and Bud 2 years ago, neither had been on a gaited horse before much less I had not ridden for 30 years! My husband had never ridden. I knew I want to ride my horse on trails-we live in an equestrian community.
Tori took me patiently through basic riding then onto my Foxtrotter gaits. She was patient, enthusiastic and worked to make my experience fun. I feel like not only has Tori trained me but also my horse. The partnership is terrific. I probably have taken about 15 lessons with Tori at different times. Each time she reviews the basics and develops a new skill. Tori's teaching methods-communication, knowledge and desire to see her students achieve with their horse is remarkable.I then was encouraged to show.
Through Tori's direction I am now able to ride confidently in the show ring. Tori has taught me to recognize my riding "faults' and make corrections while in the saddle on the trail or ring. My horse has more talent and I am learning with the help of Tori how to maximize this talent. I finished last year as #1 novice rider all because Tori took me in as a green student and developed the skills needed to be a good rider and have lots of fun.

Tori, I can’t thank you enough for being such an awesome trainer, teacher and friend. Thankfully I started out with you and Manny (my Missouri Foxtrotter) from day one, so I was fortunate to learn the right way. Guess that’s why Manny and I get along so well.
You’re the most patient, motivating, and confidence instilling instructor I have ever had! Most importantly, you not only taught my horse, but you taught me so that I know what to do when you’re not around...although "tune ups" are always good.
Thanks so much!
