After many Human Assisted Yoga sessions to begin to loosen him up, western dressage training had begun!

Started under saddle at a fantastic training barn in Missouri.  Initial training with performance style head set.  He moved to Florida about 2 months after this video was taken:

With cell phone technology and social media being what it is, sharing anything Nationwide in real time fashion is as easy as talking to the person next to you.

Western dressage is the fastest growing sport in the equestrian world right now.  I am so thankful that I was introduced to the Western Dressage Association of America by a friend back in the organizational period of the WDAA, even more thankful that gaited horses are included in this USEF sport discipline.  A discipline that educates and licenses their judges, with gaited horse criteria included in their education.  Finally we have a national platform to compete with our horses, that provides a fair and level playing field and it is working out beautifully!

This sport is so new that sometimes people cannot find the information they need to confidently give it a try with their horse.  Or the wording of what is required of their horse is confusing.  Trying out a new discipline with your horse can be a bit intimidating at times, sort of like visiting a foreign country by you self.  Consider me and the Riders of Realistic Horsemanship your tour guides!

I have set up a new Face Book page titled, That Gaited Gal.  This page will be dedicated for sharing information, tips and techniques on anything gaited, with a focus on western dressage.  Please take a look at the page and feel free to post any questions you may have.  I will post live videos during training sessions, lessons and at events as tips and techniques come about that will help you along the journey with your gaited horse.

The only limits you have is the lack of knowledge;  your horse already has the talent and ability - so do you!  I am here to help you discover this whole new world for you and your gaited horse to explore, the sky is the limit as to how far you would like to go.
